Larry Sweeney

Originally from Boston, Larry moved to St. Petersburg 45+ years ago. Larry graduated locally from St. Petersburg High School, before going on to graduate from Florida State University. Larry started working in the real estate financing industry in the early 1980’s and has worked at it ever since. After a few years of training, Larry opened his own brokerage business and stayed at it for 19 years until the massive mortgage restructuring. After that, Larry joined a group of local lenders and helped them expand programs and streamline loan production. Not wanting to be in the brokerage business any longer, Larry wanted to help lead the way with helping to develop programs that were needed locally. After building some out-of-state mortgage lenders’ operations, Larry decided to work for BayFirst as a mortgage loan officer.

Larry enjoys spending time with family and his yellow lab, sailing, fishing, and getting out on his motorcycle, taking road trips to new places.
