Safe Stay-Cation Guide: St. Petersburg Edition

July 28, 2021

Summer is in full swing and area attractions are open, making it the perfect time to get out and enjoy the beautiful place we call home!  And while it’s exciting to finally start planning a season full of fun after a stressful year, it’s still important to remain cautious and keep safety top of mind.

To help, BayFirst has created a guide for those ready to branch out and safely enjoy all things St. Pete, this summer and beyond. Whether you’re ready to take in all the action at a professional sporting event, take advantage of area museums or take it outdoors, our guide to a safe summer has got you covered.

Break away to the beach – Pack your sunscreen and head out for a relaxing or fun-filled day on one of our beautiful beaches.  Did you know St. Pete Beach was ranked #1 on Trip Advisor’s 2021 list of Top 25 Beaches in the United States?  With white sand, calm waters and something for everyone, our beaches are the perfect place to spend the day.

Pick out a park – Walking is one of the best ways to exercise and explore! Luckily, there are plenty of parks and trails to try in St. Pete where you can meet up safely with friends, enjoy the scenery and soak up the sun. Check out Vinoy Park, Lassing Park or Sawgrass Lake for your next adventure, and don’t forget your water bottle!

Take a peek at the Pier – One of the newest additions to the St. Pete area is the completely renovated St. Pete Pier!  With several restaurants and bars to choose from, public art to adore and unbeatable views, it’s more than just a pier, it is an exPIERience – and the perfect choice for an outdoor, socially-distanced afternoon.

Meander through a museum – On a rainy afternoon (or for those needing a break from the sun), there are many indoor museums to discover!  St. Pete is home to The Dali Museum, Chihuly Collection and Museum of Fine Arts, to name a few. Each provides an opportunity to learn something new and admire art while following health and safety guidelines!

Root for the Rowdies – The Tampa Bay Rowdies are an American professional soccer team based here in St. Petersburg, and their games are fun and exciting for all ages!  BayFirst is a proud sponsor of the team, so our team will be there to cheer them on with you!

These are just a few of the many amazing things the St. Pete area has to offer!  Enjoy your summer and stay safe!
